1282 meritorious students will be given the degree in IIT(BHU) Convocation

Varanasi:  Indian Institute of Technology (B.H.U) is going to organize its 8th Convocation at Swatantrata Bhawan on November 8. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, Union Human Resource Development Minister, will be the chief guest, while Prof. Pramod Kumar Jain, the Director of the Institute & the Chairman, Board of Governors, IIT(BHU), will preside over the function.

A total of 1282 meritorious students of different courses of the Institute will be awarded their degrees including 754 B.Tech./ B.Pharm., 197 IDD/IMD, 252 M.Tech./M.Pharm. and 79 Research scholars.

This year, President’s gold medal and Director’s gold medal will be given for achieving outstanding achievements among all disciplines. For outstanding performance in academics among all disciplines of B.Tech. Shruti Rajlakshmi is awarded the President’s Gold Medal 2019 and Pavan S.N. is awarded Director’s Gold Medal for outstanding all round performance and excellent organizational abilities and leadership qualities among all B.Tech. graduates of 2019.

The alumni of IIT(BHU), teachers and officers from many educational Institutions and Universities of the country are expected to attend the convocation. Prior to the convocation, its rehearsal will be held on Thursday at the Swatantrata Bhawan of Banaras Hindu University.
