IIT (BHU) organises the Run for Cancer Marathon

Varanasi: To mark the National Cancer Awareness Day, IIT BHU organised the Run for Cancer Marathon on Thursday. KashiYatra 2020 and GAIL (India) Limited collaborated to make a successful attempt to spread awareness of cancer through this marathon.

The event was attended by Suresh Tiwari, Chief Manager, GAIL (India) Limited, Varanasi, and Dr. Amitesh Kumar, chairman of Kashiyatra. The participants were given Run for Cancer t-shirts. The marathon started from main gate of IIT Gymkhana and stretched an entire round of BHU Campus.

In the evening, through the street-theater, IIT students explained how air pollution can cause cancer. Also, along with GAIL (India) Limited this performance promoted the use of CNG and PNG to control air pollution. KashiYatra and Blood-Connect also organized a blood-donation camp during the day at Rajputana hostel.
