IIT (BHU) to develop leadership capacity of academics

Varanasi. The Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University) has been entrusted with the responsibility of organizing the program ‘Development of Leadership Ability of Academics’ for the second consecutive year by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

In this sequence, the “Leadership for Academic Program”, which was run in the first phase from 8 to 21 December, was launched in the Institute’s Chemical Engineering Department on Sunday.

Organized under the Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching Scheme of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, the event is also supported by Judge Business School, Cambridge University, UK. In the second phase, the event will be held at the Judge Business School, Cambridge University, UK, between 20 January 26 the following year.

Presiding over the inauguration ceremony, Director of the institute, Professor Pramod Kumar Jain, said that the program aims to develop leadership potential among higher educationists in India, so that they can upgrade, respect, availability and quality of higher education in India. Contribute to the achievement of goals.

Coordinator of the program Professor Rajiv Prakash stated that the program is designed to provide the necessary tools and skills to navigate the various issues that arise with academic leadership positions. In the two-week program, guests will also be given a visit to Kashi.

The special guest of the inaugural event was Mr. Sriprakash Shukla, Group President and CEO of Mahindra Aerospace, Steel and Defense Sector. Mr. Shukla is a 1979 batch student of IIT BHU. He described the leap program as very useful for research output. At the same time, Chief Data Scientist Dr. Satyam Priyadarshi was the chief guest. He stressed on increasing the number of data scientists in the country.The program was conducted by Leap’s co-coordinator Professor Pradeep Kumar Mishra. He informed that 28 academics have participated in the leap program this year. Educationists from places like IIT Roorkee, Aligarh Muslim University, Jamia Hamdard Deemed University, Banaras Hindu University, Anna University, Chennai etc. attended this event.
