Varanasi: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat offered prayer at Kashi Vishwanath Temple on Tuesday evening. He also visited the site of the proposed Kashi Vishwanath Dham (corridor) and saw the development works.
Before offering prayer at the temple, Bhagwat took a round of the corridor area and saw the temple emerged after the demolition of old buildings. Kashi Vishwanath Dham is one of the dream projects of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who had laid its foundation last year.
Bhagwat also saw a documentary video of the project and took account of the future plans of the temple administration. He also walked to Lalita Ghat through the Neelkanth Dwar to offer prayer to Maa Ganga.
After attending the Saptarshi Aarti of Lord Vishwanath, he went into the sanctum sanctorum to perform puja. Later, the divisional commissioner Deepak Agrawal presented him anga-vastra and Rudraksh. The district magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma presented him a coffee table book highlighting the culture of Kashi.
