Varanasi: Three persons were tested COVD-19 positive in Azamgarh district on Friday. They were admitted to the isolation ward of Chakrapanpur hospital.
After attending the Tablighi Jamaat in Delhi a group of 16 persons had arrived Azamgarh on March 21. They were staying at a madrassa without being screened at the hospital or informing the local authorities. After getting information the police raided the madrassa on Thursday and took them under custody.
According to Azamgarh district magistrate NP Singh, the samples of 16 persons were sent for testing on Thursday, out of them three detected positive. One of them is from Ghaziabad, while two others are from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The others have been quarantined.
