238 COVID-19 cases found in 5-districts

Varanasi: While Chandauli district witnessed a spike in COVID-19 with 101 positive cases of coronavirus in a single day on Thursday, the Varanasi district leading the tally in this region crossed the mark of 1000. The Sonbhadra district too recorded 52 positive cases of COVID-19 on Thursday.

As many as 238 persons were tested positive for COVID-19 in five districts including Chandauli (101), Varanasi (68), Sonbhadra (52), Mau (13) and Mirzapur (4) on Thursday.

According to the daily medical bulletin of Varanasi district administration, with 68 new cases of COVID-19 the tally rose to 1047 in the district. However, 499 patients have recovered so far, while 30 persons died on coronavirus infection. Presently, there are 518 active cases of COVID-19 in the district.

In Chandauli district, with 101 new cases the tally of COVID-19 patients rose to 416. So far 168 persons have recovered from illness, while four patients died during treatment. Presently, the district has 244 active cases of COVID-19. While Sonbhadra district recorded 52 new cases of COVID-19, the Mau and Mirzapur districts reported 13 and four infected persons respectively.
