Chandauli gets additional funds of Rs 10 Crore

Lucknow: In recognition to the creditable performance under various parameters of the Niti Aayog, four ‘Aspirational’ districts of Uttar Pradesh including Chandauli have become entitled to receive additional funds for the various developmental schemes and programmes.

Chandauli district has secured a good rank in the overall performance and has become entitled to receive an additional allocation of Rs 10 Crore and three other districts have secured good rankings and are now entitled to receive and additional fund of Rs 3 Crore. The fund allocations have been done on the basis of the performance in the month of August and September 2020.

While Balrampur has secured a good rank in education sector, Chitrakoot has performed well in financial inclusion and skill development. In addition, the Fatehpur district has secured a good rank in agriculture and water resources.

The NITI Aayog provides additional fund allocation to districts securing ranks through various developmental parameters under the Aspirational District Programme and eight districts of the state namely, Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Siddharthnagar, Chandauli, Sonebhadra, Fatehpur and Chitrakoot, have found place in the programme.

There are eight districts of Uttar Pradesh in the list of 115 Aspirational Districts of the country in the first phase of the programme. Of these, these four districts have braced up to improve their performance in the development.

 

The district magistrates and the district collectors of the concerned districts have to submit a Plan of Action/Project Proposal to the Program Management Unit (PMU) by November 30th for availing the additional allocation.
