MLC and wife of MLA missing

Bhadohi: The MLC from Mirzapur-Sonbhadra Ramlali Mishra, who is the wife of muscleman MLA from Gyanpur (Bhadohi) Vijay Mishra, went missing in mysterious circumstance from George Town Prayagraj on Thursday night. The matter is being investigated by police.

According to reports, her gunner Ishwar Chand informed the higher authorities on Thursday night that she was missing from George Town in Prayagraj.

The police started investigation and the matter was brought into the notice of senior officials including Bhadohi SP. However, the Bhadohi SP RB Singh ruled out her disappearance saying that she is not missing, but hiding to evade her arrest.

Meanwhile, the MLA was also detained by Madhya Pradesh police in Malwa area on Friday. Just a day before her disappearance, Mishra had released a video message on Wednesday fearing life threat to him and his family. However, the police termed it a plan to divert people’s attention from his crime history.

Ramlali Mishra is the co-accused with her husband and son in a case lodged on August 8 by her relative Krishna Mohan Tiwari. The  FIR was lodged at Gopiganj police station under sections 325 (voluntarily causing grievous), 506 (criminal intimidation), 347 (wrongful confinement to extort property, or constrain to illegal act), 387 (putting person in fear of death or of grievous hurt, in order to commit extortion) and 449 (house-trespass in order to commit offence punishable with death) of IPC. The complainant has alleged that they had grabbed his property.

Her husband has a long list of over 70 criminal cases lodged against him in different districts of the state and 10 cases being heard in MP/MLA court. Mishra is known as muscleman politician of eastern UP. After winning Gyanpur seat for three consecutive times including 2012 election which he contested from jail, he was denied ticket by the Samajwadi Party in 2017 assembly polls. Then he contested on Nishad Party ticket and emerged victorious for fourth time.
