SYS protests against holding JEE/NEET

PRAYAGRAJ: The workers of Samajwadi Yuvajan Sabha (SYS) on Friday staged protest against holding of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) examination amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

They burnt the effigy of the chief minister demanding postponement of the examination. The party workers under the leadership of Sandeep Yadav, district president SYS, demanded that the exams be deferred keeping in view the present COVID-19 situation. Slogans against the government were raised during the protest. Minor scuffle between protestors and police was held.

The party workers hit out at the government accusing it of playing with the lives of students. During the protest district president Sandeep Yadav along with more than a dozen of party workers were arrested and sent to the Police Line.
