Two criminals nabbed after encounter
Varanasi: Two notorious criminals were nabbed after an encounter in Lanka area on Friday evening. Both the criminals sustained bullet injuries in an exchange of fire. They were admitted to the district hospital.
According to reports, in a joint operation of SOG and Varanasi Commissionerate police, the criminals identified as Santosh and Pavan were caught. They used to loot people on gun point. They might be involved in chain snatching incidents in Lanka and Bhelupur areas.
According to the Commissioner of Police A Satish Ganesh, the SOG/SWAT and surveillance teams had been behind them for many days. The nabbed criminals are native of Prayagraj. Cash prize and note of appreciation would be given to all the policemen for this successful operation. Further legal action is underway, he said.
