Varanasi: The five-day 25th Ganga Mahotsav began with colourful cultural programme on the bank of holy Ganga at Rajghat on Friday evening.
The UP minister Neelkanth Tiwari inaugurated the festival, which will showcase the rich cultural heritage of Varanasi in five days. Addressing the inaugural function, the minister said that the city is widely known for its music and musicians.
The inaugural day of the festival witnessed the performance of many musicians including Anshuman Maharaj and group (theme song), Shubham Keshari (Kathak), Geeta Mahalik (Odissi), Pt. Vikas Maharaj (Sarod) and Bharat Sharma Vyas (Bhajan).
