IIT (BHU) to hold Google Startup Weekend

The IIT (BHU) is going to organise a three-day Google Startup Weekend from August 23 to 25 to foster the spirit of entrepreneurship in Varanasi.

According to the organizers, Google Startup Weekends are weekend-long, hands-on experiences where entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs can validate their start-up ideas and learn to turn them into a real business. The three-day event, which has been held in more than 150 countries, has spawned hundreds of businesses—each in fewer than 54 hours and has come to Varanasi again. Here’s how it works: Participants pitch ideas for start-ups, which are usually (but not always) tech-based, and assemble into teams of like-minded peers, to build prototypes. Then, on the last day, the teams present their projects to a panel of renowned entrepreneurs and investors.

The top three teams would be winning exciting prizes, goodies and will also be given the opportunity to get their ideas incubated at Cisco thingqbator at IIT BHU.
