Varanasi: Shabana (16), daughter of Mohammed Azad, lost her life when an electric pole fell on her while watching the Tazia of Muharram procession in Dokati area of Ballia district on Tuesday.
According to reports, Shabana, resident of Bechan Chapra village, had gone to see the tazia with her family members. When the local resident cut a tree branch coming on the way of tazia, the branch fell of an electric pole that too fell down causing fatal blow to Shabana.
She was immediately rushed to the community health centre at Sonbarsa, where doctors declared her dead. Senior officials including SDM Bairia and police reached there after getting information and dent the body for postmortem.
