students of Little Flower-House Varanasi vow to complete boycott of firecrackers

Satya Foundation, an organisation running campaign against menace of firecrackers for the last 11 years organised an Oath program for total boycott of firecrackers today morning at Little Flower House School, Kakarmatta, Varanasi. The students took oath that they will not use Firecrackers on Diwali or any other festival. Addressing the oath programme, the Founder Secretary of Satya Foundation, Chetan Upadhyaya apprised the students of the bad effects of firecrackers. The students were told that due to the craziness of some people for firecrackers, the patients of asthma get tortured for 4 days & it also affects all people of all ages. The ICU’s and the wards of all the hospitals get houseful due to firecrackers. The firecrackers which cause so much of torture and death cannot be part of any religion. Hence it is imperative that we stop linking firecrackers with the festivities. Addressing the students, the famous Cardiologist of Eastern U.P., Dr. Ajay Kumar Pandey (Galaxy Hospital, Varanasi) told the students in a very scientific manner that how the firecrackers affect the asthma and heart patients, newborn babies, expecting mothers, elderly and even the pets. The Principal Mrs. Indu Gulati also expressed her views. In the end, the students took oath that they will never use any firecrackers in any of the family programmes or festivals. They also took pledge to write letter to the government for total ban on Firecrackers.
