Yogi government gives compulsory retirement to 7 PPS officers

Lucknow: Striking a blow on corruption, Yogi government on Thursday decided to give compulsory retirement to seven Provincial Police Service (PPS) officers from service.

The seven officers in the ranks of Superintendent of Police and Assistant Commandant of the Provincial Service Cadre (whose age was 50 years or more as on 31-03-2019), were forcibly retired following recommendations of the screening committee. These officials were under the radar of the government for various irregularities in service. 

PPS officers Arun Kumar, Assistant Commandant of 15th battalion PAC Agra, Vinod Kumar Rana, Superintendent of Police, Ayodhya, Narendra Singh Rana, Superintendent of Police, Agra, Ratan Kumar Yadav, Assistant Commandant of PAC Jhansi, 33rd battalion, Tejveer Singh Yadav, Assistant Commandant, 27th battalion PAC, Sitapur, Santosh Kumar Singh, Zonal officer, Moradabad, Tanveer Ahmed Khan, Assistant Commandant of 30th battalion PAC Gonda were given compulsory retirement.

The Yogi Government in the last two years, has forcibly retired over 200 officials and employees of different departments. In addition, the government has also punished more than 400 officers and employees by suspending and demoting them.

The state government took action against 169 officers of Power Department, 51 officials of Home Department, 37 officials of Transport Department, 36 officers of Revenue Department, 26 officers of Basic Education, 25 officers of Panchayati Raj, 18 officers of PWD, 16 officers of Labor Department, 16 officials of Institutional Finance Department, 16 officers of commercial tax, 16 officers of entertainment tax department, 15 officers of Rural Development and 11 officers of Forest Department.
