Proxy candidate along with actual candidate caught during written exam for Army Recruitment

 

Varanasi: During Common Entrance Examination (CEE) of the second phase of Army Recruitment for ARO Varanasi at the Army Public School, Varanasi on Sunday, personnel from Corps of Military Police (CMP) detected a suspicious candidate who claiming to be Ram Niwas  Chauhan.

Subsequently it was found that he was a proxy candidate and his actual identity is Anand Singh (Aadhar card No- 6319 3960 6139) of Ghazipur district. He was found to be a diploma holder of electric trade.

He was also found in possession of a computer made fake Aadhar Card with actual details of the candidate (Ram Niwas  Chauhan, Card No- 5422 1697 3618, DOB- 10 July 1997, s/o Chandrika Chauhan, r/o village- Jagdishpur, Mardah, Abhisahan, District- Ghazipur, UP) but with his photo instead the actual candidate.

The local Military Intelligence (MI) team was informed and their personnel reached the spot to examine the case. The joint team of MI and Cantt police went for searching the actual candidate with the proxy candidate, Anand Singh along. After an hour long search they could identify the actual candidate, Ram Niwas Chauhan in Sadar area as indicated by the proxy. They dropped the proxy candidate in Cantt police station and went again to apprehend the actual candidate.

This time Ram Niwas Chauhan saw the policemen in the vehicle and started fleeing. He was chased by the joint team but the candidate tried running through the narrow lanes making it difficult for the vehicle to follow him. One of the team members borrowed a motorcycle from a local civilian and started following him. Finally, after a long chase the actual candidate was apprehended at Subrato Chowk (near Varanasi Airport). Subsequently other members of the joint team reached the spot and brought the candidate Ram Niwas Chauhan to Cantt police station.

The genuine Adhar card was also recovered from him. Both the individuals are further being questioned and their belongings (including mobile phones) are being examined for any further leads. However as of now it is believed, this was an act of crime committed by the two without involvement of anyone else.
