12th National Conference of Indian Association of Pediatric Anesthesiologists organized in BHU

Varanasi: The 12th National Conference of Indian Association of Pediatric Anesthesiologists is going to organize from February 7 to 9 by the Department of Anaesthesiology of Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University (BHU).

The organizing secretary, Dr Pushkar Ranjan said that the problems and difficulties arising while managing the pre-intra and postoperative anaesthesia events of newborns and children coming up for various types of operation will be discussed by the renowned doctors of the country and abroad.

The techniques and knowledge required to understand and properly treat the various events which a clinician come across while managing the anaesthesia of children will be discussed and the difficult conditions arising and the methods used in their disposal will be discussed. In addition, physicians will also be trained to use new equipment and techniques.

 On the first day of the program, a workshop will be organized on four major subjects like Mechanical Ventilation in Children, Ultrasound-Guided Nerve Blocks, Difficult Pediatric Air-Way, and Pediatric Perioperative Life Support (PPLS).

The main conference will be inaugurated on February 8 at KN Udupa auditorium. In which about 300 eminent doctors from the country and abroad will discuss their experience and standard international practice of the paediatric anesthesiology. On the first day, lectures on topics like Neonatal anaesthesia, Resuscitation, pre-operative care will be discussed in detail whereas, on the second day, the in-depth discussion will be done on topics such as air-way management and regional anaesthesia.

Organizing Chairman and Head of the Department Dr SK Mathur said that the physical structure and functioning of newborns and young children are quite different from adults. Disarming them and having a successful operation is a complex task, in which different situations have to be faced, and failing to manage them efficiently causes difficulty in saving the life of the child. Therefore, the objective of this program is to prepare new and old doctors for proper management of the above circumstances and also to prepare training providers for the next generation.

Dr Ranjan said that that in the present scenario where the percentage of various congenital, infective and other types of diseases has been immensely increased in newborns and young children so that the no of surgeries and ICU admission. Therefore, the arrival of new techniques and methods of treatment and practical knowledge of doctors about them is the demand of time. It is for this purpose that the Indian Association of Pediatric Anesthesiologists is formed. @
