25-year-old youth from Basti dies at BRD Medical College Hospital, Gorakhpur
Lucknow: A 25-year-old sick youth from Basti died at the BRD Medical College Hospital in Gorakhpur on March 30. He was detected COVID-19 positive in his test report that came on Wednesday, two days after his death and burial.
However, in his death certificate issued by the hospital ‘sudden cardiopulmonary arrest’ was stated as the reason of the death.
According to reports, the youth, who was suffering from many ailments for last two months, was admitted to the Gorakhpur hospital on March 29, and his sample was sent to the KGMC, Lucknow for testing.
“The man died on Monday. He was suffering from liver and kidney problems,” said a senior official. After receiving positive test reports, the two lab technicians, who had taken his samples, have also been admitted in the quarantine ward of the hospital as a precautionary measure. In Basti too preventive measures like quarantine of doctors and health staff during his treatment at the district hospital are being taken.
