Varanasi: The burnt body of an unidentified woman was found at an abandoned panchayat building in Kashipur Charauva village in Kaptanganj police station area of Azamgarh district on Tuesday.
According to reports, some children, who noticed the body, raised an alarm. The news spread like a wildfire in the locality. The police reached there after getting information.
The police recovered an empty bottle at the site. The dog squad and forensic team were also engaged to collect the evidence. The identity of the woman could not be ascertained.
According to Azamgarh SP Triveni Singh, important evidence has been collected, and the case would be worked out shortly.
