CM Yogi inspects projects in Azamgarh, Varanasi

Varanasi: The eastern UP may get the Purvanchal Expressway as a Diwali Gift, as the chief minister Yogi Adityanath asked the officials to speed up the work for early completion of the project.

CM inspects Purvanchal Expressway project in Azamgarh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid the foundation of Purvanchal Expressway in Azamgarh in July 2018. The CM on Monday made an aerial as well as ground survey of the project in Kisundaspur in Azamgarh district. He was seemingly satisfied with the progress, as the works are on as per timeline.

He said that the project of Purvanchal Expressway has been undertaken for the development of the region between Gorakhpur and Varanasi, which has been lagging behind in the race of development. It would enhance the economy of the region and generate employment, as industrial corridor would be developed along the expressway. He said that the officials have been asked to complete it before Diwali festival. He said that a university would be constructed in Azamgarh soon. The Manduri airport is almost complete sand it would become functional shortly.

Later, the CM arrived Varanasi and inspected the Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Upvan in Padao area, where the PM is expected to unveil the 63 ft tall statue of Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya on February 16. He also inspected the works done in DDU memorial Park, auditorium and Vedic Udyan at this site.
