Yug Tevar editor Kamalnayan Pandey felicitated

Bhopal: Noted littérateur and editor of Yug Tevar magazine Kamalnayan Pandey was felicitated with 12th Pt. Brijlal Dwivedi Smriti Akhil Bharatiya Sahityik Patrakarita Samman at a function held in Gandhi Bhawan on Sunday.   

Addressing the function, noted social workers and thinker Raghu Thakur said studying literature is not necessary for a degree of journalism but it is essential to be a good human being. Though the advertisement is like disease for journalism, it is difficult to publish newspaper or magazine without advertisement, he said.

He further said that the private life of politicians gets ample space in newspapers, but the literary persons are completely ignored. The newspapers should also give space to the life of writers and their works prominently, he added.    

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Kamal Dikshit said that the journalism is not for the country and society, but for humanity. Humanity should be the focal point of journalism, he said and expressing his concern said that it is unfortunate that the journalism has distanced itself from social values for couple of years. Evaluation of media is a must, and efforts are on in this direction, he added.

The Yug Tevar editor said that differences in opinion is essential in the society, as there would be no exposure of truth in absence of differences. Presiding over the function, noted journalist Vijaydutt Sridhar said that the journalism should be based on social values. The function was conducted by Dr. Punam Bhatia from Delhi. Shrikant Singh welcomed the guests, while Dr BK Reena proposed the vote of thanks.

Two books on journalism –“Rashtravad aur Media” authored by Dr Saurabh Malaviya and Lokendra Singh, and “Naye Samay mein Apradh Ptarakarita” authored by Prof Sanjay Dwivedi and Dr Vartika Nanda were also released on the occasion.
