Varanasi: A portion of the old house of the former mahanth of Kashi Vishwanath Temple Kulpati Tiwari caved in on Wednesday.
The members of Mahanth family narrowly escape, though the silver palanquin of Lord Shiva used during traditional Rang Bhari Ekadashi festival got damaged in the mishap.
The house was recently purchased by the temple administration for the development of Kashi Vishwanath Dham, the dream project of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
