Varanasi: A 25-year-old youth was brutally killed allegedly by his friends in Sikraul locality in Cantonment police station area on Wednesday night. His mutilated body was found near Patrakarpuram colony on Thursday morning.
The police reached there after getting information. The killed youth was identified as as Arvind alias Lalu Rajbhar. SSP Prabhakar Chowdhary said that the youth was killed with some heavy and blunt object. Some empty bottles of liquor were also found at the place. Further investigation is underway, he added.
The police are examining the footages of CCTVs installed in the area. The deceased was seen with some youths armed with sticks in the CCTV footage. The police detained three youths on the basis of CCTV footage for interrogation. Arvind had left home on Wednesday night for decorating the local temple in view of Mahashivratri festival.
