Varanasi: While the Central government has formed a Trust for the construction of a grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the Ramalay Nyas, headed by the Shakaracharya of Sharda-Dwarka and Jyotish peeths Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati, on Friday began ‘swarn sangrah’ (gold collection) campaign for the construction of ‘baal mandir’ (small temple) of Lord Ram in Ayodhya.
The campaign was started by the Ramalay Nyas secretary Swami Avimikteshwaranand Saraswati at Shri Vidya Math, Kedar Ghat. “It is our target to collect one-gram gold from each village for the Baal Mandir,” said the seer adding that the gold would be collected only of written request of devotees by the collectors authorized by the Nyas.
“The path of the construction of a grand temple in Ayodhya became clear after the verdict of the Supreme Court. But Ramlala is still under the tent. It is the thought of Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati that a ‘baal mandir’ of Ramlala should be built before the main temple, which would take time,” he said adding that the baal mandir measuring 12x12x12 feet would be made of sandal wood, while the throne measuring 6x6x9 feet would be made of gold.
Ramalay Nyas has decided to move court challenging the central government’s setting up the trust -Shri Ramjanmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra- for construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya.
