Sri Lankan PM visits Varanasi

Varanasi: Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa arrived Varanasi on Sunday. He landed at Lal Bahadur Shastri International airport where he was accorded a warm welcome.


He is on a State visit to India from February 8 – 11 at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Sri Lankan PM offers prayer at Kashi Vishwanath Temple

He visited Varanasi to offer prayer at Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Buddhist pilgrimage site at Sarnath. He also offered prayer at Kaal Bhairav Temple.

UP minister Neelkanth Tiwari, divisional commissioner Deepak Agrawal and district magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma accompanied him at Kashi Vishwanath Temple.


He will also travel to Bodh Gaya, Tirupati before he gets back to Colombo.
