BHU students asked to vacate hostels within 48 hours

Buses arranged for the transportation of students to their hometowns

 

Varanasi: In view of the extended lockdown due to COVID-19 outbreak, the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) administration has asked the students presently staying in different hostels to vacate their rooms within 48 hours. Buses have been arranged with the permission of local administration for the transportation of these students to their hometowns.

According to the BHU notification issued on Tuesday, as per the guidelines received from UGC/MHRD, no academic activities other than online mode is expected to commence before July 1, 2020. In view of which it has been decided that as the public transport facilities have been relaxed for essential movements during lockdown 4, those students who were unable to travel to their hometowns after March 23 and are still residing in the hostels shall vacate the hostel within 48 hours.

For safe transportation of the students from BHU to their hometowns necessary permission/passes have been obtained for the students from the district administration, and buses have been arranged for the purpose by the university. These students will be sent to their home by these buses following the necessary safe guards.

All the students, who are presently residing in various hostels of the university, have been asked to report to the chief proctor office immediately for their transportation information and needful guidelines.
