Varanasi: French Ambassador to India Emmanuel Lenain on Monday met prominent citizens of Varanasi and interacted with them on different issues particularly the cultural exchange and conservation of iconic building of archaeological importance.
The meeting was organized by Gaurav Kapoor of the research department of Congress. The meeting was attended by prominent artists, representatives of social organisations. The French ambassador was keen to know the present scenario of Kashi, and also spoke about the cordial relationship between France and India mentioning special affection with Kashi.
The meeting was followed by a luncheon session, which was attended by the Kala Prakash convener Ashok Kapoor, Padma Shri S Soparkar, Padma Shri Bettina Bäumer, Shashank Singh, Pasuresh Nayar, Prof Prodosh Mishra, student leader Himanshu Giri, Abhijit Agrawal, architect Mudita Kapoor, semi classical singer Anuradha Raturi, Anurag Singh of ICCR, Ashish Jaiswal and other. The programme was conducted by Gaurav Kapoor.
