Varanasi: AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said that there is a need to spread Sant Ravidas’ dream of ‘Begampura’ -the ideal place where there is no suffering or fear, and all are equal.
“Sadguru Ravidasji had dreamt of ‘Begampura’ -a society or city which is free from caste differences, where every individual is respected, where there is no injustice,” said Priyanka while speaking on the occasion of Sant Ravidas Jayanti celebration at his birthplace Seer Gowardhanpur on Sunday.
“Our Constitution also tries to replicate the same idea. There should not be social discrimination on the basis of caste and religion,” she said adding, “Today the society is suffering from violence and hatred. It is the high time to remember the teachings of Guru Ravidas and follow his path.”
