E-Summit’20 concludes at IIT (BHU)

Varanasi: The two-day E-Summit’20 IIT (BHU) organized by the Entrepreneurship Cell, MCIIE, IIT (BHU) concluded on Sunday. It witnessed an overwhelming response attracting various sponsors & partners, and various eminent personalities around the world too had accepted to be a part of this grand event as juries/mentors.

On the first day the event started with the ‘Speed Dating’ event – a platform where startups meet with potential investors on a boat ride in the holy Ganges. The event turned out to be a huge success, with an overwhelming response from various startups across the nation. It was followed by the B-Plan competition ‘Pitch your model’, which was judged by local entrepreneurs of Varanasi, based on the potential of the idea and the go to market strategy. The top 10 teams qualified for the next round.

Under start-up expo event, innovative products are displayed by various start-ups such as Kashi Organic Care, Grihastha Gorgic Pvt Ltd, JVKS, Shivashraya Pvt Ltd, Allywing Solutions Pvt Ltd and Nutritatva Pvt Ltd incubated under RKVY-RAFTAAR scheme. This was then followed by a talk by Abhinav Pandey, VP of Startup Strategy, iB Hubs on the impact of technology on B-Plan. Then a B-plan workshop on “How Technology influences B-Plan creation” was headed by Arjun S Meda, whose expertise likes in automation and tech.

Incubate Me, a stage where startups get an opportunity to get onboard with some of the best incubators across the nation, a chance to elevate their startups to the next level, too turned out to be a grand success. The keynote speakers included Mr. Kaustav Mukherjee , Senior Partner & MD, The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Mr Manish Gupta, Co-founder Alphonso, Inc, Mr. Vinamra Pandiya, Founder and CEO Qtrove.com, an esteemed alumnus of IIT(BHU).

The most awaited sessions of E-Summit’20: A panel discussion on Fintech headed by eminent personalities like Sanjeev Mehta(MD, Standard Chartered), Gunjan Shukla(CFO, Paypal India), Praharsh Sharma(MD, Goldman Sachs), Shalap Singhal(Co-Founder, Ziploan), etc. was held towards the end which was followed by a Story-telling workshop by the spellbinding boyfriend of the internet- Mr. Dhruv Sehgal (Actor, Writer, Creator of Little Thing, Netflix).

Day-1 concluded with the “Networking cum dinner session” of all these eminent personalities from the business world on the ‘Bajra’ over the holy Ganga. Director of IIT (BHU), Prof. P. K. Jain and Coordinator of NCL-IIT(BHU) Incubation centre, Prof. P. K. Mishra were also present during this networking session.

The second day witnessed the startups looking for funding where they pitched their ideas to investors where few also included investors and serial entrepreneurs from Silicon Valley. The event (Lone Wolf Challenge) seen 14 startups from different parts of the country who pitched to a panel of investors. These 14 startups had been shortlisted from a pool of 52 startup applications. This was followed by a networking session over lunch where the startups networked with the investors. The valedictory ceremony was attended by Mr. BV Jagadeesh, who is a serial entrepreneur and an Investor from USA.
