ERT launched by Rajasthan Governor

Varanasi: Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra on Monday online launched the Emergency Response Teams (ERT) of Mahamana Malaviya Mission (Rural Unit) Varanasi for carrying out work in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

ERT, an initiative of IIT-BHU alumni, was first started at Kota to combat Cobid-19 pandemic. The core team of ERT consists of Dr Munish Bindal, Bimlendra Jha, Raja Venketshwar and Prof PK Mishra. “The concept of ERT is to connect haves with have-nots through a robust team of dedicated youngsters. The students of Kota Technical University were trained in the first phase and they created a good data base for Kota city to intervene in this pandemic and later on the same can help in any kind of emergency,” said Prof. PK Mishra, the general secretary, Mahamana Malaviya Mission (Rural, Varanasi) and coordinator, Malaviya Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (MCIIE) at IIT-BHU.

The Governor complimented the team of Mahamana Malaviya Mission (Rural) Varanasi and suggested to create even bigger network of institutions, students and alumni to combat against any emergent situation such as flood, earthquake etc. in addition to Cobid-19. He said that it is essential to channelize the enormous energy of youth towards such creative activities endowed with human values. It is the bounden duty of the alumni of the Banaras Hindu University to work as per the philosophy of Mahamana Malaviya and this will be their true homage to him.    He said that he is happy to note the efforts put in by the mission in collaboration of various organizations. He also hailed the efforts of MCIIE in creation of entrepreneurship in the region and directed to work for Atma Nirbhar Bharat through creation of small skill and entrepreneurship centers at village level.

The president of Mahamana Malaviya Mission (Rural) Varanasi Prof SN Upadhyay welcomed the Governor, while the national general secretary Harishankar Singh briefed about the activities of Mahamana Malaviya Mission at the national level.

Dr Munish Bindal conducted the program at Kota studio and presentation of certificates was done after his deliberations. Prof PK Mishra discussed the concept of ERT and briefed about the activities taken to combat Cobid-19, especially the contribution of Roti Bank Varanasi. Prof Devendra Bhasin discussed the Uttarakhand’s program.

In Varanasi Malviya Mission has been assisted by All India Roti Bank Trust led by Kishor Kant Tiewari, Sanjivani Welfare Society led by Dr Vidya Sagar Pandey and Kashi Katha led by Dr Awdhesh Dixit. Dr Manu Tondon an alumnus of IIT BHU donated an automatic roti making machine to Roti Bank to fight against hunger. Malviya Mission at Dehradun is also initiating this program.
