Varanasi: A 28-year-old youth was allegedly beaten to death by the baratis at a marriage function in Usasa village in Pakadi area of Ballia district on Wednesday night. The matter is being investigated and the body was sent for post mortem.
According to reports, a clash occurred during DJ dance at the marriage ceremony of the daughter of Suresh Chauhan. A local youth Omprakash Ram was allegedly thrashed by the baratis. He was taken to the local hospital from where he was referred to Varanasi, but he succumbed to injuries on the way. Another local resident Pradyumna Chauhan also sustained injuries in the clash. He is under treatment at a hospital in Mau district.
On the complaint of the deceased’s uncle Ghoora Ram, the police lodged an FIR against some baratis. The police investigation is underway.
