BHU Closed till May 3

Essential services like medical and emergency services, electric and water supply, sanitation, security services continue

 

Varanasi: As the prohibitory orders in the district are in place due to COVID-19 lockdown, the Banaras Hindu University will remain closed till May 3.

BHU spokesperson Rajesh Singh said that no examination would be scheduled during the period. Any examination scheduled stands postponed and fresh examination dates would be notified by the controller of examination accordingly. The students may deposit their fee either online of after the university re-opens as per their convenience without any extra charges.

However, the essential services like medical and emergency services, Sir Sunderlal Hospital, Trauma Centre, electric and water supply, sanitation, security services, dairy and those directly engaged in taking measures to control the spread of COVID-19 would continue.

He said that all necessary safety measures would be taken by the staff engaged in these services and they would be engaged in staggered manner as far as possible. The employees and students those who are residing on the campus may contact the university control room (2369242, 2369134) for urgent or emergent need.
