Man booked in Jaunpur for fleeing from quarantine centre in Palval (Haryana)

His sample tests positive for COVID-19 after he reaches home in Jainpur district; Sent to BHU hospital for isolation

 

Jaunpur: A native of Molnapur Sambhopur Khurd village in Saraikhawaja area of the district lived in Mumbai to earn livelihood as an auto driver. To reach home during lockdown he boarded a truck in Mumbai, but the truck driver left him at Palval in Haryana, where he was quarantined and his sample was sent for testing.

But he escaped from the quarantine centre and reached Jaunpur on Sunday. After his report tested positive the Palval police informed the Jaunpur police.

Saraikhwaja SO Shiv Prakash Verma said that the man was caught from his home and sent to BHU hospital in Varanasi for isolation. An FIR was lodged against him under section 269 (Negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) of IPC, and Epidemic Disease Act.
