Dr Sameer Trivedi selected for Economic Times Doctors Award

Participates in 4th Edition of The Economic Times Doctors Day Conclave

 

Varanasi: Dr Sameer Trivedi, Professor and Head – Department of Urology at Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi has been selected as one of the inspiring Urologists in India for prestigious Economic Times Doctors day Award and was invited to participate in the 4th Edition of The Economic Times Doctors Day Conclave  held online on 30th June 2021.

“The ET Doctors Day Summit envisages to bring together 300+ guests comprising leading practitioners and visionaries from across the length and breadth of the country to celebrate the Doctor’s Day: a day marked as a respect for the fraternity. The symbol of Doctors Day is a red carnation – a flower that stands for love; charity, selflessness and sacrifice, traits that a doctor holds;” the organisers said in a statement.

The chief guest of the event was Ashwini Kumar Choubey. Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare. The opening address was delivered by Mrs. Sudha Murty; Chairperson, Infosys Foundation and keynote address by Sh. Kailash Satyarthi. Nobel Peace Prize winner.

Dr Randeep Guleria, Director, AlIMS ; Dr. Sunil Kumar, Director General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India; Dr Naresh Trehan, Chairman & Managing Director, Medanta Heart Institute; Dr Devi Prasad Shetty, Chairman & Executive Director, Narayana Health; Dr. Ambrish Mithal  Chairman & Head , Max Institute of Endocrinology & Diabetes. Max Healthcare; Prof. Balram Bhargava, Director General Indian Council of Medical Research, New Delhi and Secretary, Department of Health Research. Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India (ICMR) were among the notable participants.

“The summit witnessed the launch of a Coffee Table Book “The Economic Times – Most Inspiring Doctors of India 2021″. The book features prominent doctors, through a process of nomination, who are the pride of India and a badge of India’s abilities in the field of medical science. This compendium recognizes and acknowledges the tremendous efforts and achievements of the individual doctors and brings them together under one umbrella.” The past editions have witnessed participation from over 300 plus doctors, many of whom were BC Roy Awardees. Padma Shri, and Padma Bhushan Winners across various categories / specialities. This year, The Economic Times has chosen this special day to launch the edition of ‘The Economic Times – Most Inspiring Urologists 2021”.

Dr Sameer Trivedi is a renowned urologist at the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. He has been at the forefront of the successful running of the department of Urology at IMS, BHU and has been instrumental in the efficient training of Super-speciality M Ch students in Urology and providing advanced Urological treatment to the patients at BHU. He has numerous research papers and awards to his credit.

While commenting on the prestigious award, Dr Sameer Trivedi thanked the economic times for bestowing him with the award and dedicated it to the healthcare fraternity who are leading the fight against  COVID 19 pandemic.
