PM inaugurates development projects in Varanasi

 

Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday inaugurated various development projects including multi-level parking at Godowlia, Ro-Ro Vessels for tourism development, three-lane flyover bridge on the Varanasi-Ghazipur Highway and others worth over Rs 1500 crores in his parliamentary constituency.

Addressing a public meeting at the IIT-BHU ground, the PM said that the Centre has recently taken a major decision to empower agriculture infrastructure. The Rs 1 Lakh Crore special fund set up for the modern agriculture infrastructure will benefit the agriculture mandis. This is a major step towards making the mandi system modern.

He said that Varanasi is becoming a large medical hub of eastern UP. Today facilities are being made available in Varanasi too for diseases for the treatment of which one had to go to Delhi and Mumbai. UP is a state that does the maximum number of testing of Covid-19 across the country, and it has done maximum number of vaccinations too.

Speaking on the occasion, the UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath said that under PM Modi’s governance, Kashi has made a new identity in country. New Kashi is reaching new heights in development. This smart Kashi has become a model for the country, he said.
