Eco-skilled Ganga Mitras to be associated with district level committees

 

Varanasi: The Eco-skilled Ganga Mitras were given certificates by the director general of National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) Rajeev Ranjan Mishra at a function held at Mahamana Malaviya Research Centre for Ganga, Banaras Hindu University on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Mishra said that the trained Ganga Mitras would be associated with the programmes of district Ganga samiti, Ganga Task Force and Nehru Yuva Kendra at local level. He also apprised the skilled Ganga Mitras of the activities of ambitious Namami Gange project to clean the holy river.

 

The MMRCG chairman and noted environmental scientist Prof BD Tripathi said that the trained Ganga Mitras would work for the pollution abatement, water conservation and development of green belt along the bank of Ganga. The co-investigator of the project Prof AK Joshi of BHU’s Sociology department assured Mishra that the trained Ganga Mitras would work as per expectations of NMCG.

Earlier, the function began with the recitation of theme song by Ganga Mitras. The organisers presented Mishra anga-vastram and stone painting on the occasion. The programme was conducted by Ravindra Sahay.
