Girl allegedly forced to drink acid
Ballia: A teen age girl was allegedly forced to drink acid by some youths at Shivpur Diyar villahe in Kotwali police station area of Ballia district. She was admitted to the hospital for treatment.
The police, however, registered an FIR against three persons under section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of IPC.
According to reports, the incident occurred on June 3 but the FIR was lodged on June 12. In his complaint, the girl’s father alleged that three youths Dhanji Singh, Sumant Pandey and Nikhil assaulted his daughter. He alleged that these youth used to harass his daughter on the way.
Ballia SP Devendra Nath also went to the village on Saturday to take first hand account of the incident. According to him, there is no mention of acid (bathroom cleaner) in the complaint. The matter is being investigated, and appropriate action would be taken.
