IIT (BHU) students advised to stay in homes and hostels

Steps taken at the Institute for the prevention of coronavirus (Covid-19)

 

Varanasi: Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University) on Wednesday held the meeting of its Task Force constituted for the protection and prevention of Coronavirus (Covid-19).

The meeting was chaired by Director, Prof Pramod Kumar Jain. The meeting discussed in detail the measures to protection and prevent the spread of coronavirus. In the meeting, several decisions were taken to protect against coronavirus (Covid-19) such as Café Coffee Day (CCD) and IIT Cafeteria closed till further orders, students residing in the Institute be encouraged to go to their homes and stay safe and while staying in the Hostels should not go outside hostel/campus in order to minimize contact with others at least.

 

Those who have gone to their homes should not be allowed to return to the hostel until further communication in this regard. All employees and students should be advised not to do mass gathering in the mess, library, cafeteria, T-stall, other food stalls and public places. In addition, research students/ M.Tech students should do their research work by contacting their supervisor via email, so that research work does not suffer.

 

In meeting Dean (Research & Development) Professor Rajiv Prakash, Dean (Student Affairs) Professor BN Rai, Dean (Academic Affairs) Professor SB Dwivedi, Registrar Dr. SP Mathur, Medical Superintendent, Sir Sunderlal Hospital, BHU Professor SK Mathur, Chairman, Council of Warden Professor LP Singh, Coordinator, School of Biomedical, Professor PK Roy, Joint Registrar Shri Rajan Srivastava, Vice President of Student Parliament Shri Harshit Chaudhary were present.
