Three fresh COVID-19 cases detected in Varanasi

Out of 64 infected persons 13 get cured while 50 are in isolation

 

Varanasi: Three more persons tested positive for COVID-19 positive in Varanasi on Sunday. The total number of positive cases climbed to 64, while 13 infected persons got cured and one person died. Presently there are 50 active cases in the district.

One of the fresh cases is connected with the Tablighi Jamaat, while two others are the family members of the microbiology lab scientists at Banaras Hindu University who was tested positive. Meanwhile, the number of hotspots reduced to 22 from 25 after Lohta, Bajardiha and Gangapur areas were excluded.

According to the district magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma, 45 samples had been sent to KGMU Lucknow on Saturday. The report of 44 cases was received on Sunday. Among them one is 75-year-old person of Madanpura area, who came into contact with a TJ attendee from Karnataka, while two others include a one-year-old son of BHU lab’s scientist and her 66-year-old father of Bagbariyar Singh locality of Chetganj area.
