24 more COVID-19 patients found in Varanasi

Varanasi: As many as 24 more persons were tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday increasing tally to 474 in the district. Besides, with one more death due to COVID-19 the toll rose to 18 in the district.

According to the chief medical officer Dr VB Singh, an infected woman (87) of Nirala Nagar in Sigra area died after her health condition started deteriorating from Sunday night. Out of 474 COVID-19 patients, 279 have recovered so far. Presently, there are 178 active cases of COVID-19 in the district.

The new infected persons include a dentist and his paediatrician wife, seven persons in contact of health staff of a private hospital, five members of the family of an infected woman of Badi Piyari area, a sari trader’s wife, a patient under treatment at Bhabha Cancer hospital and a woman of Bajardiha area.
