Two policemen injured in Azamgarh

Azamgarh:  Two policemen including  were injured when a group of villagers attacked the police party at Chakidi village in Rani Ki Sarai police station area in Azamgarh district on Friday night. Four persons were arrested, and heavy police force has been deployed in the village.

The police team had gone to the village after getting information of a clash between two groups.   According to reports, a woman and two men were injured in a clash over the rash driving on Friday. On the basis of a complaint of one Mukand Chand, the police lodged a case against six persons.  The clash occurred again at night they rreturned home after getting bail.

The police team reached the village after getting information.  But, a group allegedly started pelting stones on police party. Somehow the police brought the situation under control. Additional police force also reached the village.

ASP (City) Pankaj Kumar Pandey said that SHO Ramayan Singh ans SI Purnamasi sustained injuries on their heads. On the complaint of SI, named FIR was lodged and 14 persons and several unknown persons under sections 147, 148, 149, 307, 332, 353 of IPC, 7 CLA, and Epidemic Act.  Four accused including Ramvachan, Sanjay, Rajendra and Mukund were arrested. A manhunt has been launched to nab absconding accused.
