CM goes tough on violence

Jaunpur: Going tough to the incident of violence and arson in Jaunpur district, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered to book the accused under NSA. He also ordered for action against the Sarai Khwaja SO for laxity in handling the situation. CM also announced compensation and houses under CM housing scheme for the victims.

Violence and arson had erupted in SC dominated Bhadethi village in Jaunpur district on Tuesday night over a minor dispute among children. The village witnessed a clash between the groups of two communities. One group allegedly also set the seven huts of SC people on fire.

Following the CM’s order, the police arrested 37 persons including a Samajwadi Party leader Javed Siddaqui. Besides, the Sarai Khawaja inspector Sanjiv Mishra was also attached to police lines. The district administration also distributed compensation to the victims on Thursday.

According to the divisional commissioner Deepak Agrawal, the Jaunpur district magistrate Dinesh Kumar Singh and other officials visited Bhadethi village on Thursday afternoon and distributed cheques of compensation amounts among the victims.

Jaunpur SP Ashok Kumar Sharma said that Sarai Khawaja inspector has been attached to police lines and ASP (City) has been asked to probe into the matter. Of 57 names accused, 37 have been arrested so far. A manhunt has been launched to nab the absconding accused.
