Chandauli: In a tragic incident four members of a family including mother and three children committed suicide by laying on railway tracks near Hinauti village in Chandauli district on Tuesday night.
According to reports, the gateman of railway cabin noticed them and informed the police. Senior police officials including Chandauli SP Hemant Kutiyal reached the spot after getting information.
The SP said that the identity of the deceased could be ascertained with the help of a mobile phone found at the spot. They were identified as Premsheela Devi (40), daughters Chanchal (20) and Ranjana (16) and on Ajit (19). They were the residents of Sudaw village in Saiyyadraja police station area.
The SP said that the reason behind the incident was stated to be a family dispute between wife and husband. Premsheela’s husband had accused her of having illicit relations with several men. A panchayat was also called over the issue in the village on Tuesday. Being grieved with the allegation Premsheela along with her kids left the house in the evening and laid on the railway tracks on Delhi-Howrah route near Hinauti village. They were overrun by s speeding goods train (3375). Further investigation is underway.
