28 more persons found positive in Varanasi

Varanasi: As many as 28 more persons were tested positive for new COVID-19 in Varanasi on Sunday increasing the tally to 451 in the district. It was the highest number of positive cases found in a single day so far in the district. With the death of an infected woman the total toll rose to 17 in the district.

According to the CMO Dr VB Singh, a 67-year-old woman, who was hyper tension-cardiac patients and was being treated to a private hospital, was tested positive. She died during treatment. So far 274 patients have recovered from illness and were discharged from the hospital. Presently, there are 160 active cases of COVID-19 in the district.
