Ghazipur: The police on Monday arrested one person for allegedly giving life threatening call to former UP minister and SBSP chief On Prakash Rajbhar, who is the native of Rasara area of Ballia district.
Rajbhar lodged an FIR with Kasimabad police station in Ghazipur district on Sunday night alleging that an unidentified person threatened him of dire consequences. In his complaint, he said that he received the phone call from an unknown number while crossing through Kasimabad area on May 14. The caller used abusive language and threatened to kill him and his family members, alleged Rajbhar and demanded security cover to him and family members.
According to Kasimabad SO Hanuman Singh, the accused was identified as Sunil Pandey of Mohammadpur village. He has been booked under sections 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 507 (criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication) of IPC. Further investigation is underway.
