Northern Railway Workshops Gears Up to Fight against COVID- 2019
Sanitizers, Face Masks, Coverall / Apron manufacturing in Full Swing
New Delhi: In its continuous effort to fight against COVID – 19, all Northern railway Workshops have been geared up, and in this regard important initiative are being taken by the workshops.
According to the chief public relation officer Deepak Kumar, the NR workshops are manufacturing 700 liters sanitizer per day. Both NR Coaching Workshops are manufacturing 700 face masks per day, prototype of Coverall/ Aprons for medical staff.
Sufficient raw material received at Jagadhari on Sunday. So far 12 Coverall at Jagadhari and two at Alambagh have been manufactured. For next three days, the workshops will manufacture 20 Coverall / Apron per day. This will be further enhanced to 30-35 per day from 3 April. Sealing tape source has been identified by Jagadhari and will be provided on all COVERALL after 01 April.
Besides, the non-AC coaches are being converted into isolation coach. As many as 16 LHB coaches were already converted into isolation coaches. Besides, two rakes (20 LHB) converted isolation non AC coaches will be ready by March 31.
The two ICF coaches available at Alambagh will be converted as isolation coaches by Tuesday. One rake of 10 coaches will be converted into isolation facility within one week time. Further, the NR is in touch with respective State Government for better co-ordination in fight against corona virus.
