COVID-19 cases continue to rise

Varanasi: The district witnessed a surge in COVID-19 cases with 38 more patients on Thursday increasing the tally to 723. In view of the rapid spread of coronavirus, restrictions have been imposed on all activities except essential services in the district from July 10 evening to July 13 morning. So far 25 COVID-19 patients died, while 422 persons have recovered from illness. Presently, there are 276 active cases of COVID-19 in the district.

In Ballia district, the COVID-19 positive cases rose alarmingly for second consecutive day on Thursday when 45 persons were tested positive increasing the tally to 315. So far 123 patients have recovered. In view of the rising trend, the district magistrate Ballia Hari Pratap Shahi ordered to extend the lockdown in the district till July 21.

In Mau district, 12 more persons were tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday increasing the tally to 195. A 15-day lockdown has also been imposed in Mau to check the spread of coronavirus.

In Chandauli district, 19 more persons found infected with the virus increasing the tally to 226, of which 106 are under treatment.
