Uttar Pradesh to get its first, much-awaited Data Center Park in August

Yotta D1 Data Center developed by Hiranandani Group ready in 24 months

Lucknow: In a giant move towards becoming ‘self-reliant’ in data storage, the state of Uttar Pradesh, is all set to get its first, much-awaited, hyper-scale Yotta data center park, spread across 300,000 sq ft by the Hiranandani group in the month of August.

The first data center building, Yotta D1, has a 5,000- server rack capacity. In addition, it features 28.8 MW IT Power and will provide 48 hours of IT power backup. Yotta D1 is part of an extensive integrated Data Center Park with six Data Center buildings (multi-tenanted or single tenanted) with a total capacity of 30,000 racks and 250 MW of power and power generation and distribution infrastructure supported by three redundant fibre pathways. The total cost of the project is Rs 5,000 crores.

Recently, Niranjan Hiranandani, at the Ground Breaking Ceremony-III held in the state capital, said that the contribution of the Prime Minister and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to the economic development of the country and the state is unparalleled.

He also appreciated the policies and the vision of the state government for the economic progress of Uttar Pradesh and described his experience of establishing communication with the state government and the process of land allotment as extremely pleasant and time-bound. The foundation stone of the project was laid in December 2020. Necessary clearances were received for the project in January 2021 and the construction of the data center began in March 2021.

Three more data centers coming up

In view of the importance of data centers, the state government implemented the data center policy in the year 2021. Under the policy, the work of setting up four Data center Parks by various investors is currently under process with an investment of more than Rs15,950 crores. Of these are, NIDP Developers Pvt Ltd of Hiranandani Group with an investment of Rs 9134.90 crores, NTT Global centers and Cloud Infrastructure India Pvt Ltd of Japan with an investment of Rs 1687 crores, as well as two projects of Rs 2414 crores and Rs 2713 crores each of Adani Enterprises Ltd. These will provide direct and indirect employment to more than thousands of people.
