IIT(BHU) students will get Reliance Foundation Scholarship in Area of AI and Computer Sciences
Varanasi: The IIT (BHU) has signed an acceptance with Reliance Foundation regarding offering of maximum 40 scholarships to students in the area of Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Computer Science for its students from Academic Session 2020-21 onwards The scholarship is launched by Reliance Industries Limited’s Chairman Sri Mukesh Ambani and Reliance Foundation Chairperson Smt. Nita Ambani. The scholarship will be offered in academic years 2020-21.
Taking about this agreement, the IIT (BHU) director Prof. Pramod Kumar Jain said that the main objective of this scholarship is to empower talented students of IT (BHU) and seeks to build a community of new scholars who will become India’s global leader of tomorrow. He also said that the intention is to expend the area covered by the scholarship to include other discipline students also.
The Dean, Academic Affairs Professor S.B. Dwivedi informed that for availing the scholarship, students need to be enrolled in their first year and pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (“IT”) or Al The selected undergraduate scholars will receive up to total Rs. 4,00.000/ at the rate of Rs. 1,00.000/- per year for a period of four years and the selected postgraduate scholars will receive up to total Rs 6,00.000 at the rate of Rs. 3,00,000/- per year for a period of two years.
He further told that selection will be purely on the individual merit of the applicants, as evaluated by the independent expert panelists of Reliance Foundation There will be no fixed minimum and maximum number of candidates to be selected from each partner Institution
The students from the courses including B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering (4 year), B.Tech. and M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering (5 year, Dual Degree), B. Tech. and M. Tech. in Mathematics and Computing (5 Years Dual Degree) will be eligible to apply providing they meet the scholarship eligibility criteria.
