UP CM Yogi Adityanath takes stock of Covid-19 management in Azamgarh

Azamgarh: A couple of days after Yogi Adityanath became the first non- Samajwadi Party Chief Minister to visit Saifai, the home village of Akhilesh Yadav, on Monday, he made visit to Azamgarh, the parliamentary constituency of the former CM. The purpose of both the visits was to extend all possible facilities to people in view of covid.

CM, who has constantly been on the move ever since he turned Corona negative earlier this month, had scheduled his visit to Gonda, Azamgarh and Varanasi on Monday.

The CM, immediately after reaching Azamgarh, went to Government Girls’ Inter College (GGIC) to monitor the facilities available for treatment of Covid patients in the Covid-19 Care Centre set up. Thereafter, he paid a surprise visit and undertook an on-ground inspection in Bijuara village of Azamgarh and reviewed the healthcare available for COVID patients.

“Our government is committed to the well-being of every citizen. For us, every life matters and will continue to save people like we have. The officials must ensure that adequate medical aid and food is provided to every person in need,” stated the CM in SP Chief’s home turf, adding that, “Neither we have nor will we ever discriminate between voters and nonvoters, unlike others, we do not believe in serving people selectively.”

Furthermore, the Chief Minister also interacted with the newly elected Village Pradhan and advised him to work with the cooperation of the citizens, representatives, administrators and district officials to establish a synergy between the working of the government and common people in order to achieve the desired and best results for a harmonious and progressive society.

CM Yogi also assured all possible assistance in terms of medicines, medical equipment, availability of ambulance and oxygen cylinders for Covid treatment and food grains.

The CM also went on the inspection of the village where he interacted with the members of the surveillance committees. CM thereafter met the ASHA workers and took a detailed report regarding the medication facilities available in the village. CM hailed the work of the Surveillance committees in curbing the spread of the deadly virus in the rural heartlands of the state. Satisfied with the commitment shown by these frontline workers, the Chief Minister congratulated everyone expressing happiness on the work being done in the village.

This visit of the UP CM was part of a state-wide review of the COVID situation in various districts. The CM has been working at ground zero and has been monitoring the facilities available for common people for the past 24 days.

Ironically, the Samajwadi Party Chief, Akhilesh Yadav, however, has not visited his parliamentary constituency even once after the second wave hit the state. Yadav, in fact, is busy misleading the people of the state while sitting in his air conditioned comfort.

Earlier, CM Yogi had visited Gonda where he exhorted the public representatives to adopt PHCs and CHCs and use their funds to improve the health services there. Assuring help from the government as well, he asked them to work in tandem with the local administration and public to create awareness about vaccination and other government facilities.

He chose the occasion to reiterate his novel idea to set up ‘special vaccination booths’ for the guardians of children up to 12 years of age. He also said that the vaccination will be taken up in rural areas in a big manner and the rural folks are required to be made aware of the benefits of the vaccination.

The CM went to the Integrated Control and Command Center (ICCC)  in the Collectorate and sought information from officials about the situation of  Corona and the arrangements at the Centre. The Chief Minister also inquired about testing, vaccination and CCTV cameras installed in the centre and also about the mechanism to help the patients.

He went on to tell the mantra for Test, Trace and Treat which helped in curbing the second wave in the state. He also inquired about monitoring of patients admitted to Covid Hospital here and how to communicate with them. The Chief Minister also encouraged the personnel on duty there. During this, CM Yogi said that no carelessness should be shown towards serious patients.

The CM inspected the District Hospital and told the media persons there that the strategy of three Ts had been a great success. “today, we have only about 74000 active cases in the state ,down by about 2.36 lakh since April 30, during the peak. As many as over three lakh Covid tests are being conducted daily while a total of 4.67 crore tests have already taken place in the state,” said Yogi.

He said the positivity rate  has now come down to two percent which by reaching 17 percent at one point of time. He said the oxygen availability is sufficient with oxygen plants are being set up in PHC and CHC in every district.

Pointing out that the state government  has already started preparations for the Third Wave of Corona in UP, he said that the PICU wards for children are being set up in every district.  ” We have already made free vaccination for age group of 18-44 and the process will be further intensified. With the development of PHC, CHC, I have appealed to all the public representatives to adopt hospitals like oxygen plant construction, use their funds, the government will also help in this. The training for nursing, paramedical staff, pediatric etc. is progressing simultaneously. The Government of India is giving free vaccine to all persons above 45, we have also been doing the work of giving vaccine in every district for 18 to 44 years.
